This article provides a comprehensive review of electrical accidents, including global and national statistics, physiological mechanisms of electric shock, types of injuries, first aid principles, and prevention strategies based on the latest international standards. According to the findings, between 6,000 and 8,000 people die from electrocution worldwide each year (Raafet Erguez, 2024), and 74% of workplace electrical fatalities occur in non-electrical occupations (ESFI, 2025). Electrical injuries include burns, ventricular fibrillation, respiratory arrest, and secondary injuries from falls. In this research, using qualitative content analysis of authoritative sources, the main risk factors, operational emergency protocols, and preventive measures based on the hierarchy of controls have been extracted and explained. The findings indicate that installing residual current devices (RCD/GFCI), public education, and adhering to NFPA 70E and IEC 60364 standards can reduce up to 80% of preventable accidents.
